Pink and Purple with Silver Stars

I havent been around in awhile, trying to get things in my life organized.  I haven't been feeling very creative either. I had the urge to do my nails today and when I was doing them, my husband told me that these were one of his favorites.  My hands are in rough shape right now so I'm a little embarrassed. I hope you can see past that :)

The Ultimate Stamping Challenge-BM01

Right now I am working on a plan.  I intend to have a special theme every day of the week. I want it to be awesome and I have most of the ideas set in stone I just need to finalize things.  I will be doing a launch post with a list showing the topic of the day.  I will be incorporating past ideas into this new venture to insure that each of my ideas will be featured once a week. I will have other posts as well thrown in the mix but I will be consistent with the themed days.

I will be having a giveaway when I reach 250 followers. I am about to launch my own indie polish.
When I reach 250 I will be doing a draw in which the winner gets to create a polish that I will make and send them.  That polish will be named whatever the winner wishes and the formula and name will be carried on when I start selling polishes. It will also be one of my launch polishes!
I have received amazing feedback on the polishes I have created so far, I hope that is a sign you all will love my creations!!!

Onto my NOTD and a sneak peek into a new feature that will be on my blog. I will warn you though, we just moved into a new place...again and my camera is on the top shelf of the closet and being 5ft2in I cannot reach it so unfortunately these are cell phone pictures.

I posted this on the Facebook Group -Adventures in Stamping and thought I would share a new feature to my blog on what better MY BLOG! (Caffeine..it makes things so much more exciting)

"So I have set myself a challenge. I seem to be lacking in creativity so I have made a commitment I have to stick to, and I will have to think outside of the box. I intend to go in order of all my stamping plates that I have organized in my binder and use every single image on every single plate from the front of the book to the back.  If I land on a Christmas image in March well then I just have to find a way to make it work!. I can incorporate other plates designs elements etc, and still participate in challenges but I will do this and I will be blogging about it. The good the bad and the ugly. I am excited to start!"
How I achieved this look (Supplies listed below)
  • Base Coat OPI Nail Envy
  • 2 coats of City Color Masquerade (Thanks Amanda for this beautiful purple Polish!)
  • 2 coats of Klean Color Chunky Holo Purple
  • Stamped Both images from BM01 (2 images in one! images used are circled below)
  • Stamped with Essie No Place like Chrome
  • Added silver stars on the thumbs
  • Applied Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Top Coat (better then SV IMHO)

B is for bows featuring Essie Blue Rhapsody

My darling Hubby brought me home Essie Blue Rhapsody, as he knew I loved the Mirror Metallic Polishes.
I want to start reviewing polishes on my blog so I will start with ones I already own and hopefully some super fantabulous indie polish makers (or even name brand polish companies) will let me do reviews for their products.

Unfortunately I was away for the weekend and had to use my cell phone (woomp woomp woomp)

I feel it is important to not only show how the color is on the nail but to also visually document your experience.
I did this first photo after 2 coats and I am very careful with the control of my polish when painting and this one I found hard to work with, it dint want to cooperate.  This is two coats without top coat and this picture is color accurate on my computer screen, I didn't do clean up because I wanted to show you that even with careful application, the polish application was frustratingly difficult.

This is the nail art I did For Llama Nails ABC Challenge.  This week it is the letter B.  I used Essie Metallic in Blue Rhapsody, Finger Paints Laugh my Art Off (a blue Sparkle) Black striping tape from the Born Pretty Store and blue bow gems also from BPS. I stamped the Hello Kitty using Plate M71, my free gift with my order from BPS and I used My Betty Boop black polish!

A is For Autobot (and U is for updates!)

Those who know me and have read past posts, know I am dealing with some health issues, I am getting better and I am going to tell you in this post my exciting plans for this blog!  First the picture above!  I just joined another nail group on Facebook called Llama Nails And once a week we have to do nail art that starts with the letters as we work out way through the alphabet. I didn't want to do the same as everyone else, so I thought for a while and started browsing through my stamping plates, I found my Transformers plate and Autobots nail art was made!!!

So I will tell you a bit more about my plans for this blog. And the reason why I am going to start putting so much dedication and awesomeness into its little corner of the web.  I moved across country 8 months ago and due to having extreme anxiety it is hard for me to leave the house so I haven't been able to get out and meet people.  I have been dwelling on my life back in Ontario and not adapting here. My friend and roommate gave me some awesome advice.  "You came out here for a new beginning, start living it!".  I have met some amazing people online which has done a great deal to fill the void and with technology today, I want to meet some awesome people online!

So I plan to continue with my star blogs featuring blogs that I feel are awesome , I am interested in so many things and have so many hobbies that there will be a variety of blogs featured.

I have contacted some companies and hope to be able to start reviewing products and hopefully indie polishes if someone will give me the chance. I have been a bad girl and used my cell phone for these pictures because my husband has my camera put up to high to reach but when I start reviewing I will be bringing the camera down and giving the products some awesome pictures with witty fun and creative reviews!  I am a professional photographer and using my cell phone for pictures should be a crime!

I will also be sharing whatever is inspiring me at the moment weather it be movies music media

I will be sharing my photography

and last but not least all of my crafty creations and nail art creations.

I hope this all sounds exciting, I sure am excited for it!!

Once I reach 100 followers I will be offering a giveaway!!

Too long I have waited...

FOR THE OLYMPICS!!!!

I am an Olympicoholic. ( I'm thinking by the red underneath that word,  it isn't a word but to me it is!)
I have one event going on the TV and one on the computer and I'm flicking back and forth to other events.

Last Olympics 2010 Vancouver was of course in my country and even though Vancouver was far from Ontario (where I lived at the time) It was still awesome!!!

Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenges us to do nail art inspired by the Olympic opening ceremony/Flag.  The next couple Nail Art challenges revolve around the Olympics as well but I might be busy so I am going to make this one super awesome!!

First I used Sally Hansen Hard as Nails, I just started using it so I haven't noticed if it is working but I hear that its good so I will use it before I polish my nails and see if their is progress.  If anyone has any other suggestions to helping my nails grow, please share.  I have never ever in my life had my own natural long nails, I definitely do not take after my mom and grandma!!

My Base coat is LA Colors Live.  I am going to be using tons of colors so I wanted something more neutral that would go with everything and make all the other colors pop.  Since I will be using black in my design and I didn't want white I thought I would go with silver.
Coat one:  A little streaky but pretty opaque, Hit nail on my desk so regardless I'm doing a second coat.
Coat 2: This is all you need with this polish. It has  a foil look, not completely smooth but I like it

I printed of some waterslide decals for the Olympic rings, one of the mascots and the London 2012 logo.  Thanks so much Christie for inspiring me to make my own decals!! I LOVE them, they are so easy to do, its hard to get the paper here but its worth the effort.  For my ring and index finger I tried a million different things and by this time I was so tired my eyes were hurting so I made arches that look better in person then in the photo. I used Nails Chic Nail art pens which I only have a few colors of but they are awesome and I want more as mine are getting used up very quickly. I only did my one hand as I needed my nails clear for this weekend as I have other plans for them.

Buttercup Challenge

Hey Everyone!! As promised I have finally included what I used for my nails.  Our challenge over at Purple Crumpet Fairy Challenge yesterday was "buttercups."  I had a hard time figuring out what I wanted to do and tried about 5 different things and this is the one I liked the best.  But as you see I kinda cheated with the whole nail art part substituting for nail stickers instead.  My Grandma has been forwarding all their mail to them as they just moved to Alberta as well and she tucks in nail stickers or strips.  I must like this design because I have left it on for a full 24 hours and that doesn't happen to much.

On with the details

  • China Glaze Sun Kissed
  • Nicole by OPI Make a Comet-Ment
  • And some stickers
  • I didn't top coat this one and after 24 hours I have only have a little itty bit of tip wear which is expected from being on the computer most of the day ;)

Here is the Design I did.  Please excuse the picture, it is horrible.  I took it with my cell phone as my other camera was put away.  I don't have a point and shoot I just have a DSLR (I'm a photographer) and it is too much work to get it out and set up the tripod, because it is too heavy to hold with one hand (I have really weak wrists and holding the camera is two handed for me) Anyways I am rambling..... I will play around with the cell phone, I think it is on the fritz anyways...(yay I might talk Ryan into an iPhone heheh)

Really Really Behind..(Picture Heavy!)

I haven't posted my mani's forever so this is a catch up post I keep forgetting to document what I use but I will try my best to remember some stuff anyways.  I will leave the rest of the post to the pictures

Sally Hansen Salon Effects in Spun For You

These KISS strips work really really well, they seem more like a vinyl.
